My grandfather was a Marine and I still have his Sargent pin from his time when he was in Guadalcanal. He saw some tough times in combat during 1942 but he still always remarked on the discipline and honor the Marines bestowed on him for his entire life.
There are thousands of other Marines that have served in the same way and I hope we all take time tomorrow to remember and thank all of our veterans, of all wars and of all Allied nations, for their duty and service.
